Instituted in 1887. Struck to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Victoria’s accession to the throne. The medal in gold was given to the members of the Royal Family & personal guests. The silver medal was given to the members of the Royal Household, government ministers, senior officers, distinguished forein visitors, naval & military officers, involved in the Jubilee parade on 21 June 1887.
